Building Operations Engineer

Montereau is seeking a dedicated Full-time Shift Engineer to oversee and manage our building automation systems, central plant operations, and fire safety systems. This role offers a comprehensive benefits package, including Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, as well as complimentary access to a primary care clinic with co-pays and free prescriptions.
We provide a 401(k) retirement plan with a 4% company match, plus an additional 1% for a total of up to 5% from Montereau. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SHIFT ENGINEER
As a Shift Engineer at our retirement community, you will ensure the smooth operation of our building automation systems, central plant, and fire safety systems. In the event of any issues, you will be responsible for performing repairs on plumbing, minor electrical, and HVAC systems in both private residences and common areas. Your proactive approach will include regular preventive maintenance, with monthly checks of the building, grounds, and facilities.
When emergencies arise, you will respond swiftly to resolve equipment or building-related issues reported by residents, staff, or other stakeholders. This may involve addressing concerns related to lifeline phones, door monitors, alarm systems, and nursing call light systems. You will also be quick to address emergencies involving plumbing, fire, fire alarms, and emergency generator systems, ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents and staff.
Qualifications:
- 1st Class Limited Operators License with the City of Tulsa
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- General knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, boilers, refrigerators, freezers, and HVAC
- Basic computer skills for utilizing the electronic work order system
- Excellent verbal communication skills for quality customer service
- Proficiency in operating alarm monitoring systems and fire panels
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Interpersonal skills and understanding of quality customer management
- Ability to effectively interact with a diverse team, residents, and external associates
- Mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn operational systems
- Physical ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, and reach as required
- Capability to occasionally crouch and crawl in confined spaces and climb ladders
- Ability to lift and push up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Normal levels of hearing and vision for effective communication and safety
- Valid Oklahoma driver's license with satisfactory MVR results
