Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Parts Sales Associate to join our team. As a Counterperson - Body Shop, you will be responsible for overseeing the parts sales process from start to finish, communicating with customers and staff in a friendly and professional manner, and providing high-level service to internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Communicate with customers on parts status, providing updates and resolving any issues.
  • Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner, building strong relationships and ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Be able to read and understand the parts catalog, locating and ordering parts as needed.
  • Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information to customers.
  • Review body shop estimates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Pull and fill orders from stock, maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain a weekly bin check to ensure accuracy of stock and notify the parts manager of any discrepancies.
  • Locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submit emergency orders as needed.
  • Ensure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair orders.
  • Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization.
  • Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in auto parts sales preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of organization and time management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and staff.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as discounts, interest, and commissions.
