* Associate's degree in Emergency Medical Science or related field from a regionally accredited college or university
* Virginia Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Credential - VA Emergency Medical Services Education Coordinator (or available to obtain within two years of hire)
* One year of relevant field experience in Emergency Medical Science or closely related career field within the past five years
* Secondary/Post-secondary teaching and/or professional training experience in Emergency Medical Science in any of the following formats: teaching courses, training sessions, conducting professional development workshops, and/or other continuing educational seminars

* Bachelor's degree in Emergency Medical Science or related field from a regionally accredited college or university
* Virginia Paramedic Credential is preferred
* Virginia Education Coordinator is preferred
* American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) instructor credentials are preferred
* Greater than one year of relevant field experience in Emergency Medical Science or closely related career field
* Community college teaching experience, to include experience with assessment of student learning outcomes
* Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems is also preferred
