Job Overview:
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Lab Instructors/Preceptors for the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Program. This role is essential in delivering high-quality education and support to Paramedic and EMT students.

As a Lab Instructor/Preceptor, you will be responsible for facilitating hands-on learning experiences in open labs and providing instructional assistance during skill development sessions. Your expertise will help shape the future of emergency medical professionals in our community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct and facilitate lab sessions for EMS students.
  • Assist in the development of practical skills and knowledge.
  • Perform administrative duties related to lab operations.
Minimum Qualifications:

Paramedic Lab Instructor:
Candidates must possess a comprehensive understanding of EMS course content and effective pedagogical techniques. A High School diploma or equivalent is required, along with Nationally Registered Paramedic status or Virginia Paramedic Certification. Candidates should have 3-5 years of progressive experience in emergency medical settings. Previous teaching experience is preferred.

EMT Lab Instructor:
Applicants should have a solid grasp of the EMT curriculum and demonstrate the ability to teach effectively. A High School diploma or equivalent is required, along with Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician status or Virginia EMT Certification. Candidates should have 1-3 years of relevant field experience. Teaching experience or Education Coordinator certification is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with Virginia Education Coordinator (EC) certification and additional certifications such as ACLS, PHTLS, AMLS, or PALS/EPC Instructor are highly regarded.
