About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavioral Therapist to join our team at Centered Health. As a Behavioral Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to our clients, helping them to achieve their goals and improve their overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Line-of-Sight Supervision: You will be responsible for providing close supervision to our clients, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Complete House-Related Chores: You will be required to complete various tasks and chores related to the upkeep of our facilities, including cleaning, laundry, and maintenance.
  • Strive for Professional Growth: We encourage our staff to continuously develop their skills and knowledge, and you will be expected to complete all required training and professional development opportunities.
  • Provide Crisis Intervention Services: In the event of a crisis, you will be responsible for providing immediate support and intervention to our clients, working closely with our team to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Maintain Active Participation: You will be expected to maintain active participation with our clients, engaging with them in activities and providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Prepare and Monitor Medication Administration: You will be responsible for preparing and administering medication to our clients, documenting all details in our electronic health record system.
  • Document Client Activities: You will be required to document all client activities, including nightly reports, unusual behavior, and pertinent information.
  • Maintain Open Communication: You will be expected to maintain open and effective communication with our staff, therapists, and program directors, ensuring that all parties are informed and up-to-date on client progress and needs.
  • Encourage Positive Interactions: You will be responsible for encouraging positive interactions among our clients, promoting a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Carry Out Other Responsibilities: You may be required to carry out other responsibilities as delegated by our management team.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: You must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid California driver's license.
  • Experience in Social Services or Patient Care: You must have at least one year of experience in the social services field or patient care, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Valid California Driver's License: You must have a valid California driver's license and be able to pass a clean driving record check (MVR).
  • Background Check and Physical: You must be able to pass a background check and complete a physical and TB test.
  • First Aid and CPR Certifications: You must have First Aid and CPR certifications, or be willing to obtain them prior to your start date.
  • Good Judgment and Positive Attitude: You must have good judgment, a positive attitude, dependability, and confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of Mental Health Treatment: Knowledge of regulations concerning mental health treatment is a plus.
  • Working Knowledge of Substance Abuse: Working knowledge of substance abuse, mental health disorders, and treatment procedures for such illnesses is highly desired.
  • Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills: You must have good verbal and written communication skills, and basic computer skills, including Internet, email, and MS Word.
  • Ability to Lift and Move: You must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
