As a Culinary Team Member, your primary responsibilities will include preparing ingredients and cooking dishes according to the established standards and recipes of Crux. You will ensure that the kitchen operates smoothly from food preparation to post-cooking cleanup.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Culinary Team Member, you will:

  • Efficiently prepare and cook a variety of food items, including meats, fish, vegetables, and soups.
  • Adhere to our portion sizes, cooking methods, and quality standards consistently.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels at your station to ensure seamless service.
  • Keep your workstation clean and organized.
  • Follow proper presentation and garnishing techniques for all dishes.
  • Assist in closing the kitchen and follow the closing checklist.
  • Prepare daily menu items as directed by the kitchen manager.
  • Produce visually appealing and nutritious meals while ensuring safety and sanitation standards are met.
  • Support the setup and breakdown of your station.
  • Comply with kitchen rules, regulations, and culinary standards.
  • Utilize traditional cooking methods to create high-quality dishes.
  • Guide fellow kitchen staff in safe equipment operation.
  • Ensure timely food production while maintaining quality.
  • Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff.
  • Meet all preparation timelines.

Qualifications:

  • A passion for the craft beer industry.
  • Enthusiastic, energetic, and self-motivated.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of quantity food preparation and portion control.
  • Ability to follow recipes and adjust them for larger quantities.
  • Understanding of food handling and storage practices.
  • Basic knowledge of food allergies and dietary restrictions.
  • Familiarity with various cooking methods and equipment.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a brewery-restaurant setting.
  • Food handler's certification.

Job Requirements:

  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Must be drug-free.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
  • Capable of bending, squatting, and walking on uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 10 to 15 lbs frequently.
