Position Overview

As a Senior Project Manager specializing in low voltage systems, you will oversee fire alarm, access control, and surveillance systems. You will be accountable for the overall direction, completion, and financial performance of multiple small to medium-sized projects or a single large project. Your role will involve leading a team of project managers and assistant project managers to achieve outstanding results for our clients. Additionally, you will actively seek new business opportunities and cultivate relationships with both current and prospective clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Define project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards while adhering to corporate guidelines. Ensure clear work statements for the field teams.
  • Team Oversight: Effectively manage staff in the daily administration of projects or supervise multiple project managers in their daily responsibilities.
  • Training: Provide training and guidance to project managers on the company's philosophy and operational systems.
  • Change Management: Oversee the negotiation and preparation of all change orders related to the project.
  • Project Monitoring: Maintain necessary logs to track project progress and train project assistants in project tracking methods.
  • Client Interaction: Serve as a liaison with primary clients and architects/engineers to facilitate construction activities.
  • Construction Oversight: Monitor construction activities with onsite foremen and area superintendents to ensure adherence to schedules and budgets.
  • Issue Resolution: Investigate significant issues and implement corrective actions in line with company policies.
  • Representation: Act as the company representative in meetings with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Financial Oversight: Prepare monthly financial reports and manage contract financials, including billing, equipment rentals, and income/expenses.
  • Collaboration: Promote a collaborative environment within the team and with various stakeholders to achieve shared goals.

Qualifications
  • Experience: Extensive background in managing electrical construction projects, particularly in fire alarm, access control, and surveillance systems.
  • Project Accountability: Take initiative for all aspects of project success.

  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, construction practices, and related technologies.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license is advantageous.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in project management, ideally within electrical construction.
  • Technical Proficiency: Competent in using computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); experience with Oracle and Accubid is preferred.
  • Safety Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills as required for the role.
  • Professionalism: Ability to conduct duties in a professional manner.
  • Teamwork: Self-motivated, proactive, and an effective team player.
