Description

Position: HR Generalist

Responsible to: Chief People and Culture Officer

Location: Indianapolis, IN /Hybrid

Overview

The HR Generalist will oversee the daily operations of the People and Culture department at Girls Inc. This role encompasses recruitment, payroll administration, benefits management, and the enforcement of organizational policies and practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, document, and ensure compliance with mandatory training, continuing education, and performance assessments, including safety and anti-harassment training.
  • Facilitate the recruitment process by sourcing, interviewing, and selecting qualified candidates in collaboration with departmental leaders.
  • Conduct background checks and verify employee eligibility.
  • Implement orientation programs for new hires and recognize employee achievements.
  • Administer human resource programs related to compensation, benefits, leave, and performance management.
  • Address employment-related inquiries from applicants and staff, escalating complex issues as necessary.
  • Participate in employee disciplinary actions and investigations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, reviewing policies to maintain adherence.
  • Stay informed about trends and changes in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Interpersonal skills with a focus on negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient time management skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Experience with HRIS systems, preferably Paylocity, with a capacity to learn quickly.
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Commitment to integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite or similar software.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources is preferred.
  • SHRM-CP certification is advantageous.
Physical Requirements:
  • Extended periods of sitting and working on a computer.
  • Ability to navigate various departments within the organization.
Compensation:

Starting Annual Salary Range: $58,000-$65,000
