Responsibilities:
A typical day in the life of an Audit Senior Associate at Eide Bailly may include:
Initiating client engagement meetings and determining timelines, objectives, and expectations of an engagement.
Performing audit, review, or compilation procedures for clients.
Planning and performing all phases of an engagement, including workpaper preparation, financial statement preparation, and report preparation.
Analyzing and preparing trial balances, complex financial statements, and audit reports using audit software programs such as Word and Excel.
Reconciling accounting information to control accounts.
Conducting fraud interviews on an as-needed basis with CEO, accountants, and other employees.
Reviewing staff work, preparing high-risk audit sections, and drafting financial statements.
Providing financial analysis upon completion of fieldwork to improve client internal controls and accounting procedures.
Requesting and collecting appropriate information to diagnose and solve client problems.
Coordinating various activities to meet client needs within a specified time frame.
Training lower-level staff on the various aspects of an audit and delegating work based on availability and experience.
Understanding and applying work procedures and effectively tailoring the plan as necessary.
Maintaining awareness of general business trends and issues and applying that knowledge to client issues and solutions.
Performing field work at client locations as necessary.
Networking, building relationships, and attracting new clients or business to the Firm.
Attending training seminars, professional development, and networking events.
Ensuring timely and accurate performance on assigned projects.
Maintaining compliance with project budgets, turnaround times, and deadlines.

Qualifications:
A successful candidate will have a well-rounded knowledge of auditing standards and accounting principles, as well as the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and clients. They will also demonstrate critical and analytical thinking skills, ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally, and a valid Certified Public Accountant License or working toward obtaining a CPA license. In addition, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 2-4 years of experience in public accounting audit work are required. The candidate must also be authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship.
