Role Overview:

Objective: To spearhead the sourcing and development of materials for trims and packaging that align with Eddie Bauer's brand vision. This role involves crafting and implementing a comprehensive strategy for trims and packaging that meets design aspirations, fulfills merchant needs, and supports the company's financial objectives. The Sourcing Manager will also mentor an assistant within this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of trims and packaging, managing processes from development to production for both wholesale and inline customers.
  • Collaborate with designers and merchants to select trims and packaging that facilitate seasonal product development.
  • Lead research and development efforts, obtaining multiple bids to ensure optimal quality, cost, and timing for all trims and packaging.
  • Ensure timely delivery of trims and packaging development in alignment with product allocation and sourcing strategies.
  • Participate actively in cost review meetings to finalize trims and packaging and establish market sample costs.
  • Guarantee that production approval timelines for trims and packaging meet critical business deadlines.
  • Assist in final negotiations with suppliers to meet cost targets for trims and packaging.
  • Manage external supplier relationships, supporting the establishment and updating of policies and protocols.
  • Work collaboratively to address and propose solutions for trims and packaging development and production challenges.
  • Engage with key internal partners, including design, merchandising, sourcing, sales, quality assurance, and technical design.
  • Ensure compliance with supplier production submissions for each customer and channel.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for improving efficiencies and workflows.
  • Maintain accuracy of trims and packaging costs across all systems and records.
  • Oversee bulk packaging to ensure alignment of artwork with customer specifications.
  • Evaluate development tests against Eddie Bauer or customer testing standards.
  • Recruit, nurture, and retain talent that exemplifies performance excellence.
  • Execute additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in trims and packaging development, sourcing, and production, ideally within the Apparel, Gear, Footwear, or Accessories sectors of omni-channel retail.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly advanced Excel.
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems is required.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate within the retail landscape, including product development, production, merchandising, and planning.
  • Proven experience working in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Willingness to travel as needed based on business requirements.
  • Commitment to regular in-office attendance to foster team interaction and collaboration.
  • Authorization to work in the United States is required.

  • Proficiency in operating office equipment and utilizing computer systems.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $104,000 annually, influenced by various factors including the specific role and relevant experience. Eddie Bauer, along with its affiliated brands, provides a comprehensive benefits package, which includes a 401(k) plan, overtime compensation, flexible work arrangements, and a generous employee discount program, all contingent on eligibility.
