Role Overview:

Objective: Spearhead the sourcing and development of materials specifically for trims and packaging that align with the Eddie Bauer brand ethos. Formulate and implement strategies that fulfill design aspirations, meet merchant needs, and enhance the company’s financial objectives. Oversee research and development, as well as the commercialization of trims and packaging across all sales channels. The Sourcing Manager will also mentor an assistant in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire lifecycle of trims and packaging, from development to production for both wholesale and inline clients.
  • Collaborate with designers and merchants to select trims and packaging that support seasonal product initiatives.
  • Lead R&D efforts and counter development with various resources to ensure optimal quality, cost, and timing for all trims and packaging.
  • Ensure timely delivery of trims and packaging developments to support product allocations and sourcing strategies.
  • Participate actively in cost review meetings to finalize trims and packaging selections and pricing for market samples.
  • Monitor production approval timelines for trims and packaging to meet critical business deadlines.
  • Assist sourcing teams with negotiations to achieve cost targets for trims and packaging.
  • Oversee external supplier relationships, aiding in the establishment and updating of policies and protocols.
  • Work collaboratively to address and propose solutions for trims and packaging development and production challenges.
  • Engage with key internal partners, including design, merchandising, sourcing, sales, quality assurance, and technical design.
  • Ensure compliance from suppliers regarding production submissions for each customer and channel.
  • Identify and recommend improvements for efficiency and workflow processes.
  • Maintain accuracy of trims and packaging costs across all systems and records.
  • Ensure bulk packaging aligns artwork with customer specifications.
  • Evaluate development tests against Eddie Bauer or customer testing standards.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing talent.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in trims and packaging development, sourcing, and production, ideally within the Apparel, Gear, Footwear, or Accessories sectors of omni-channel retail.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly advanced Excel.
  • Experience with PLM systems is required; ERP experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate within the retail landscape, including product development, production, and merchandising.
  • Proven capability to thrive in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for business purposes.
  • Regular in-office presence is expected for team interactions and collaboration, with a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in-office at the Seattle headquarters.
  • Must possess authorization to work in the United States.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform essential job functions in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and other applicable standards.
  • Consistent and timely attendance is required.
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods and operate office equipment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to reach at or below shoulder level.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $104,000 annually, influenced by various factors including the specific role and relevant experience. In addition to salary, Eddie Bauer offers a comprehensive benefits package, which includes a 401(k) plan, overtime pay, flexible work schedules, and an employee discount program, subject to eligibility.
