Role Overview:

Objective: Lead the sourcing and development of materials for trims and packaging for the Eddie Bauer brand. Formulate and implement strategies for trims and packaging that align with design objectives, meet merchant needs, and positively influence the company's financial performance. This role encompasses research and development, as well as the commercialization of trims and packaging across all channels. The Sourcing Manager will also mentor an assistant reporting to this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire lifecycle of trims and packaging from development to production for wholesale and inline customers.
  • Collaborate with designers and merchants to select trims and packaging that facilitate seasonal product development.
  • Oversee research and development with various resources and bids to ensure optimal quality, cost, and timing for all trims and packaging.
  • Ensure timely delivery of trims and packaging development in alignment with product allocation and sourcing strategies.
  • Participate actively in cost review meetings to finalize trims and packaging and associated costs for market samples.
  • Guarantee that production approval timelines for trims and packaging meet critical business deadlines.
  • Assist sourcing with final negotiations on trims and packaging to achieve cost targets.
  • Manage external supplier relationships and support the establishment and updating of policies and protocols.
  • Work collaboratively to propose solutions for trims and packaging development and production challenges, escalating issues to sourcing with resolution proposals as necessary.
  • Engage with key internal partners including design, merchandising, sourcing, sales, quality assurance, and technical design.
  • Ensure supplier compliance for production submissions across all customer channels.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and workflow enhancements, making recommendations accordingly.
  • Maintain accuracy of trims and packaging costs across all systems and records.
  • Oversee bulk packaging to ensure alignment of artwork with customer specifications.
  • Review development tests against Eddie Bauer or customer testing standards.
  • Recruit, identify, develop, and retain talent to achieve performance excellence.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in trims and packaging development, sourcing, and production, ideally within the apparel, gear, footwear, or accessories sectors in omni-channel retail.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly advanced Excel.
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems is required.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate within retail environments (product development, production, merchandising, planning, etc.).
  • Experience working in multicultural settings.
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Willingness to travel as needed based on business requirements.
  • Commitment to regular in-office presence for team interactions, meetings, and collaboration, with a hybrid work schedule of 3 days per week in-office.
  • Authorization to work in the United States is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform essential job functions in accordance with ADA, FMLA, and other applicable standards.
  • Maintain regular and timely attendance.
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Proficient in operating office equipment and maintaining focus on a computer screen.
  • Effective communication skills in various formats.
  • Ability to reach at or below shoulder level.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $104,000 annually, based on various factors including the position and work experience. Eddie Bauer offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a 401(k) plan, overtime pay, flexible work schedules, and an employee discount program, all subject to eligibility.
