Position: Logistics Support Driver (Location: Lanham, MD)

The primary responsibility of this role involves operating the Boland delivery vehicle (DOT Flatbed) to facilitate the delivery and collection of equipment, along with supporting various warehouse operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily inspections of the delivery vehicle, perform routine maintenance, and manage all necessary DOT documentation.
  • Review equipment specifications for delivery or retrieval, ensuring proper loading and unloading of materials, parts, and supplies.
  • Assist the Logistics Manager and Mechanical Assistants with warehouse tasks or deliveries as directed, including shipping and receiving freight, organizing outgoing equipment, and maintaining clean work areas.
  • Complete DOT truck logs, perform daily vehicle inspections, and oversee routine maintenance of the delivery truck and other warehouse machinery.
  • Be available for on-call deliveries outside of regular hours as required.
  • Transport Boland-owned and client-purchased equipment to and from job sites, while also assisting other departments with deliveries, including Water Treatment, Rentals, and Supply.
  • Inspect equipment prior to delivery to ensure functionality and conduct post-job evaluations.
  • Input necessary information into the software system for DOT logging.
  • Adhere to safe material handling practices.
  • Operate a forklift within the warehouse or at job sites.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience and education is required.
  • A valid driver's license with an excellent driving record is mandatory.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical examination within two weeks of employment.
  • Experience driving flatbed trucks or larger vehicles is preferred.
  • Must be safety-oriented, punctual, proactive, and organized.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Experience in the HVAC or related industry is advantageous.
  • Forklift operation experience and mechanical skills are preferred.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to safely navigate a commercial vehicle in busy traffic conditions.
  • Capability to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders and maintain physical positions for extended periods.
  • Willingness to work in various indoor and outdoor environments throughout the year.
