Position Summary

The Senior Technical Event Specialist is tasked with the comprehensive technical setup and management of high-quality production events within a hospitality setting, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction. Equipment Management

Client Engagement

  • Understands and nurtures the relationship between the hotel and client.

Training and Development

  • Provides guidance and mentorship to technical, sales, and operations staff to enhance their technical capabilities.
  • Develops expertise as a subject matter expert in their area of specialization.
  • Stays updated with technological advancements and industry trends.

Event Oversight

  • Engages in advanced tasks (pre, during, and post-event) alongside operations team members.
  • Supervises and directs fellow technicians throughout the event.

Equipment Care

  • Assists the team with the proper security, storage, inventory, transportation, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Conducts inventory assessments and forecasts equipment requirements.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in event technology, specializing in Audio, Lighting, Projection, or Video.
  • 4-5 years of experience in customer service or hospitality is preferred.
  • Must meet all training requirements to be eligible for this role.
  • New team members must complete all training requirements within 60 days of hire.
  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively with a diverse workforce and senior management.
  • Strong experience in customer, client, and coworker interactions.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • A valid driver's license is required for positions that may operate company vehicles.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment

This role is performed in a hotel or convention center environment, with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures and dust. Working conditions may vary from moderately quiet to noisy. Team members will utilize high-end audiovisual equipment and electrical components and may work at heights using lifts and ladders. The position may require working at various hotel locations and involves irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by the company.

Physical Requirements

Team members must meet specific physical criteria to effectively perform essential job functions. The frequency of these requirements is categorized as follows:

  • Occasionally: Peripheral Vision, Carrying, Pushing/Pulling Over 100 lbs.
  • Frequently: Color Vision, Depth Perception, Lifting 16-50 lbs., Carrying 16-50 lbs., Pushing/Pulling 16-50 lbs.

In terms of daily time allocation:

  • 0-1 hours/day: Climbing
