Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and patient Program Support Staff to provide direct service support to young adults experiencing homelessness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Debrief with shelter staff at the start of the shift to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Oversee daily chores, laundry, shower access, and locker management to maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Complete communication logs, notes, and reports to ensure accurate documentation.
  • Provide presence, reassurance, and support to clients, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Enforce program expectations, de-escalate conflicts, and respond to emergencies according to policies and protocols.
  • Enter and manage data and enrollments in HMIS, ensuring timely and accurate updates.
  • Conduct program intakes and make referrals as needed, providing support to clients in need.
  • Stay up-to-date with new policies, procedures, equipment, and systems, ensuring seamless integration into the team.
  • Support the overall goals and mission of the Shelter Program, Direct Service Team, and Organization.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with young adults in a social services setting.
  • Demonstrated experience with teamwork and a willingness to engage in collaborative problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in using PC software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with overnight/shelter/residential programs.
  • Understanding of Trauma-Informed Care principles.
  • Proficiency in using HMIS/Bitfocus software.
  • Knowledge of community resources available to young adults.
