Program Support Staff Specialist

We are seeking a reliable and patient Program Support Staff to provide direct service support to young adults experiencing homelessness.
Key Responsibilities- Debrief with shelter staff at the start of the shift to ensure a smooth transition.
- Oversee daily chores, laundry, shower access, and locker management to maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Complete communication logs, notes, and reports to ensure accurate documentation.
- Provide presence, reassurance, and support to clients, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Enforce program expectations, de-escalate conflicts, and respond to emergencies according to policies and protocols.
- Enter and manage data and enrollments in HMIS, ensuring timely and accurate updates.
- Conduct program intakes and make referrals as needed, providing support to clients in need.
- Stay up-to-date with new policies, procedures, equipment, and systems, ensuring seamless integration into the team.
- Support the overall goals and mission of the Shelter Program, Direct Service Team, and Organization.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with young adults in a social services setting.
- Demonstrated experience with teamwork and a willingness to engage in collaborative problem-solving.
- Proficiency in using PC software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience working with overnight/shelter/residential programs.
- Understanding of Trauma-Informed Care principles.
- Proficiency in using HMIS/Bitfocus software.
- Knowledge of community resources available to young adults.
- 25 Paid Time Off (PTO) days per year, prorated depending on start date.
