Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Classroom Management: Establish a well-organized and safe classroom environment that promotes student engagement and motivation.
  • Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess student progress, provide feedback, and communicate with parents as needed.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with colleagues, specialists, and administrators to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to student support.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional growth and development to enhance teaching practices and stay current with best practices in special education.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Highly qualified with required competency in the content area, and appropriate content/program area educator license (Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities) and grade level (PreK-8) licensure from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree with appropriate license; or Master's Degree with appropriate content area license preferred and/or expected within 5 years.
