We are currently seeking a full-time, permanent Senior Cloud Security Operations Lead to join our innovative and skilled team, supporting a significant Federal Government client.


The Senior Cloud Security Operations Lead will be responsible for spearheading the operational dimensions of cloud security within the Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC).

This position will focus on enhancing the operational capabilities of the CSOC by integrating advanced cloud-based detection analytics, ensuring comprehensive 24/7 monitoring, and refining incident response protocols.

The selected candidate will utilize their extensive knowledge of cloud technologies and cybersecurity to strengthen defenses against emerging threats and ensure prompt, coordinated incident responses.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the integration and onboarding of cloud detection capabilities into the CSOC's monitoring systems.
  • Implement cloud detection analytics across diverse cloud environments, ensuring effective monitoring and incident response capabilities are operational around the clock.
  • Develop or revise cyber incident response playbooks and plans to incorporate detailed cloud-specific procedures, stakeholders, and tools.
  • Collaborate closely with cloud security architects, compliance analysts, and project managers to align cloud security operations with overarching security strategies and compliance mandates.
  • Train and mentor SOC team members on new cloud detection technologies and methodologies.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance cloud detection and response capabilities to keep pace with evolving threats.
  • Coordinate with IT and security leadership to provide updates on operational status, challenges, and advancements in cloud security initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GCFA, CEH, or equivalent are highly preferred.
  • Extensive experience in Security Operations Centers (SOC), particularly within the federal government sector, is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in cloud security, with direct experience in large enterprise cloud services such as AWS, Azure, and Microsoft 365.
  • A thorough understanding of cybersecurity principles, incident response methodologies, and a proactive approach to ensure effective SOC operations in high-pressure scenarios.
  • Experience in crafting and updating incident response plans and playbooks specifically for cloud environments.
  • Strong technical acumen in cybersecurity technologies, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, SOAR platforms, and network security solutions.
  • Familiarity with enterprise ticketing systems like ServiceNow.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to identify issues, determine root causes, and develop solutions with minimal oversight.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
