Introduction
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic IT Operations Manager to oversee our cloud-based operations in Azure Gov and Microsoft 365 GCC High environments. This fully remote role will play a pivotal part in managing and optimizing our IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless service delivery, and maintaining the highest levels of security and compliance.
As the IT Operations Manager, you will lead and manage Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 teams responsible for various cloud services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, Power Platform, OneDrive, Security & Compliance, Identity, Azure infrastructure, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and Kubernetes. You will be instrumental in developing strategies, implementing best practices, and driving continuous improvement across our cloud operations.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and manage IT operations teams (Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3) to ensure effective and efficient support for cloud-based workloads.
- Oversee the administration and support of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, Power Platform, and OneDrive.
- Manage Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), and Kubernetes clusters.
- Ensure robust security and compliance measures are in place and adhered to, particularly within Azure Gov and Microsoft 365 GCC High environments.
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices to optimize service delivery and enhance user experience.
- Monitor and analyze system performance, identifying and resolving issues proactively to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute IT projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending, and implementing improvements as necessary.
This is a remote position with occasional travel.
Required for This Opportunity
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT operations management, with a focus on cloud-based environments.
- Proven experience managing teams supporting Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, Power Platform, OneDrive) and Azure infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of Azure Gov and Microsoft 365 GCC High environments, including security and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Kubernetes.
- Excellent knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Expertise in cloud infrastructure management and optimization.
- Proficiency in managing Microsoft 365 services and ensuring their seamless integration and operation.
- In-depth knowledge of security and compliance best practices within Azure Gov and Microsoft 365 GCC High.
- Strong analytical skills to monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Ability to develop and implement operational policies and procedures.
- Experience in project management and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Technical proficiency in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and Kubernetes.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with industry advancements.
