Role Responsibilities

The Senior Tier 3 Lead - Cloud will oversee the technical aspects of cloud security operations within the Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC). This position is essential for enhancing the operational capabilities of the CSOC by integrating advanced cloud-based detection analytics, ensuring comprehensive monitoring, and refining incident response protocols. The ideal candidate will utilize their extensive knowledge of cloud technologies and cybersecurity to bolster defenses against emerging threats and facilitate prompt, coordinated incident responses.

Key Duties
  • Facilitate the integration and onboarding of cloud detection capabilities into the CSOC's monitoring systems.
  • Implement cloud detection analytics across diverse cloud environments, ensuring effective 24/7 monitoring and incident response.
  • Develop and update incident response playbooks and plans to incorporate cloud-specific procedures and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cloud security architects, compliance analysts, and project managers to align cloud security operations with overarching security strategies.
  • Provide training and guidance to SOC team members on new cloud detection tools and methodologies.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance cloud detection and response capabilities to address evolving threats.
  • Coordinate with IT and security leadership to communicate operational status, challenges, and advancements in cloud security initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, GCIH, GCFA, CEH, or equivalent are highly preferred.
  • Significant experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) is required, with federal government experience being advantageous.
  • Extensive background in cloud security, particularly with major enterprise cloud services like AWS, Azure, and Microsoft 365.
  • A comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity principles and incident response methodologies.
  • Experience in developing and revising incident response plans and playbooks for cloud environments.
  • Strong technical proficiency in cybersecurity technologies, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, SOAR platforms, and network security solutions.
  • Familiarity with enterprise ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively to identify issues, determine root causes, and develop solutions with minimal oversight.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
