Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Clerk to join our team at the Coast Guard Community Services Command. As a Sales Clerk, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining product knowledge, and assisting with sales and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Welcome customers, respond to their concerns, and provide outstanding service to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Sales and Inventory Management: Sell merchandise, maintain product knowledge, and assist with inventory management, including taking stock counts and participating in inventory processes.
  • Cash Handling: Receive cash, checks, credit cards, debit cards, and gift cards in payment for merchandise and give change accurately.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of sales, balance tills, and turn in sales records, money, and other items sold.
  • Visual Merchandising: Maintain a neat and presentable store environment, including displaying merchandise and setting up promotions.
  • Loss Prevention: Follow all policies regarding loss prevention and be aware of and proactive regarding shrink and the Alert Line.
  • Safety and Emergency Preparedness: Follow all established safety standards and emergency preparedness requirements.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with the ability to read, comprehend, and explain product literature.
  • Experience: Previous retail merchandising or cashier experience is preferred.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds, and stand for long periods of time.
