Position Overview:
The Senior Commissioning Project Engineer will report directly to a team leader and will be pivotal in delivering and executing our professional services for various systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing office tasks and overseeing time and expense reporting.
  • Conducting in-field installation validations, compiling field observation reports, and documenting meeting notes.
  • Performing functional performance testing, including on-site and factory witness testing.
  • Drafting reports, reviewing submittals, and evaluating design documentation.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Achieving target billable hours while managing tasks within budget constraints.
  • Leading commissioning meetings and collaborating with the construction team to address technical challenges.
  • Interpreting contract documents to identify scope gaps and enhance client opportunities.

Administrative Duties:

  • Assisting the team leader in organizing weekly staff schedules.
  • Providing training and mentorship to team members on documentation practices, field procedures, and equipment usage.
  • Participating in and leading company-wide safety and training initiatives.
  • Supporting revenue objectives and quality assurance goals by nurturing relationships with existing clients.

Travel to various job sites within the designated region is required.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in HVACR, mechanical or electrical engineering, construction management, or an associate's degree in engineering technology or a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in a related staff or intern role, or 3 years in the commissioning industry.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing the interconnectivity of building systems, including pumps, fans, motors, air ventilation, chillers, boilers, steam distribution, heat absorption, building automation systems, and electrical distribution.
  • Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, bidding processes, and related industry documents.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, both independently and in a team setting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Ability to adapt to varying indoor and outdoor working conditions.
  • Physical capability to lift at least 30 pounds and climb ladders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Involvement in trade associations.
  • Possession of EIT, ACP, CEM, or similar certifications.
  • OSHA 30 or other workplace safety certifications.
  • Familiarity with building information modeling.
