Campus Recreation Assistant

Purpose of Position:
The primary aim of this role is to contribute to the mission, vision, and goals of CSU. This position provides students with the opportunity to gain experience relevant to their educational or career aspirations.
Prepare future graduates who possess integrity, critical thinking skills, effective communication abilities, and collaborative capabilities, enabling them to undertake responsible roles in society.
Key Responsibilities:
The following responsibilities are essential for this position and are designed to offer students experience pertinent to their educational and/or career goals:
1. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all policies and procedures related to the facility.
2. Verify the current identification of students, faculty, or staff members.
3. Monitor all participants and guests as they enter and exit the facility, ensuring a safe environment.
4. Divide time between the front desk and the fitness area to ensure efficient operations.
5. Assist in the safety, supervision, and arrangement of recreational equipment in all areas.
6. Exhibit assertiveness and provide excellent customer service, which are crucial for the effectiveness of this role.
7. Ensure cleanliness across all facility areas, including fitness rooms, lounges, and gymnasiums.
Compensation and Benefits:
Hourly rate of $10, paid on the 15th of the month following the work performed.
Free housing (excluding meal plans) available for the first four male and first four female applicants.
Qualifications:
Not applicable.
Work Schedule:
If selected for work-study employment, supervisors will coordinate work hours based on the student's academic schedule.
Students are prohibited from working during scheduled class times.
Performance Evaluation:
Students will be assessed based on their work performance, including adherence to instructions and error-free task completion. Punctuality is expected, and students should inform their supervisor if they are running late or unable to attend work.
Cell phones should remain silent during work hours, with personal use limited to emergencies.
