Laboratory Sample Transport Specialist

Job Overview:
The Sample Transport Specialist will assist laboratory and field inspectors by delivering chemical samples to and from various locations, including laboratories and client facilities, while maintaining an organized inventory of chemical samples.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Keep an accurate sample log and enter data into the tracking system.
  • Manage inventory and procure drums, disposal/used oil pickups, and laboratory supplies as necessary.
  • Ensure proper disposal of samples and transport them to designated retain areas following established quality protocols.
  • Maintain cleanliness and perform basic upkeep of the laboratory environment.
  • Report any incidents or accidents promptly.
  • Be available for a flexible on-call schedule as required.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Understand and adhere to all job and safety requirements in English.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
  • Strong internal and external customer service skills are essential.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
  • Demonstrated history of reliability and responsibility in previous roles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is necessary.
  • A TWIC card is mandatory.

Additional Responsibilities:
Management reserves the right to modify job duties as needed.

Work Environment:
This role involves working in both indoor and outdoor settings, which may include exposure to extreme temperatures.

Physical Requirements:
  • The physical demands and working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required.
  • Regularly required to stand for extended periods, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; communicate verbally and audibly; and detect odors.
  • Must be able to walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms; and to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or twist the body as necessary.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in environments with odors typical of petroleum or petrochemicals without adverse reactions, provided they are within OSHA-designated permissible exposure limits (PELs).
  • May encounter fumes, airborne particles, and hazardous chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
