Job Objective
This position is accountable for ensuring adherence to the Coastal Gulf & International Quality Management Systems and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager or the Laboratory Manager as required.
  • Assists the Quality Assurance Manager in the formulation, coordination, and oversight of Quality Management and Safety Programs.
  • Facilitates training, coaching, mentoring, and development of team members, promoting engagement in 'continuous quality improvement' initiatives.
  • Conducts Test Method Assessments to evaluate testing efficiency and identify necessary modifications.
  • Oversees Test Method Witnessing activities.
  • Contributes to employee evaluations regarding safety and quality performance.
  • Manages the Document Control Management system, including but not limited to:
    • Non-Conformance Reports
    • Quality Guidelines
    • Statistical Quality Control Data
    • Management of Change
    • Equipment lists for new and existing tools
    • Data Review
    • Standard Operating Procedures Development
    • Investigation and reporting of non-conforming samples.
  • Ensures consistent quality testing and reporting through the establishment and enforcement of superior laboratory practices and procedures.
  • Communicates product safety and quality standards to laboratory staff.
  • Monitors the laboratory environment to identify opportunities for enhancing quality or safety procedures.
  • Reports to management on lab processes and compliance deviations.
  • Supervises the calibration and maintenance of all laboratory instruments.
  • Addresses daily laboratory quality challenges.
  • Assists in the creation of new testing methodologies.
  • Reviews and evaluates all Round Robin Data.
  • Handles customer complaints in collaboration with management to resolve issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Supports the coordination of all quality and safety-related activities, including protocols and testing.
  • Performs any additional safety, quality, and laboratory duties as assigned by management.
  • Comprehends all job and safety requirements in English.
  • Adheres to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Additional Qualifications
  • Comprehensive knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations regarding Quality, Health, and Safety.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical materials related to procedures and safety, as well as applicable government regulations.
  • Capable of drafting clear reports and correspondence.
  • Effectively presents information and responds to inquiries from management and clients.
  • Adept at solving practical problems and navigating a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Interprets a range of instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formats.
  • Familiarity with basic computer applications, including MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Local travel and occasional out-of-town assignments may be necessary.
  • Must be able to work in refineries, terminals, on marine vessels, and in laboratory settings.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in QHSE management.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Practical understanding of company quality systems.
  • Analytical thinking and troubleshooting skills; Lean Six Sigma experience is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all organizational levels and diverse cultures.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, both in development and execution.
  • Outstanding internal and external customer service abilities.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Demonstrated history of responsibility and reliability in previous roles.

Working Conditions
This role is primarily office-based but may involve both indoor and outdoor conditions, including exposure to extreme temperatures.

Travel Requirements
10% travel is expected.
