Job Summary

Talascend is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer II to join our team for a contract opportunity. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for reviewing and preparing systems engineering documents, interpreting and applying codes and standards, and coordinating with other engineering disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Systems Engineering Document Preparation: Review and prepare systems engineering documents related to requirements generation, management, and verification.
  • Code and Standard Interpretation: Properly interpret and apply codes and standards and customer design requirements for the compilation of verification evidence.
  • Interdisciplinary Coordination: Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and job functions, review project design criteria, vendor drawings/manuals, construction inspection records, and start-up test reports.
  • Engineering Change Packages: Prepare engineering change packages for requirements management and configuration managed documentation.
  • Technical Issue Coordination: Coordinate technical issues with Startup & Commissioning for support of Operational Readiness.
  • Verification Package Delivery: Deliver verification packages to facilitate the turnover of completed systems and facilities to clientele.
  • Leadership and Teamwork: Demonstrate leadership qualities with emphasis on continuous improvement and team building, and interpersonal communication skills.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college with at least 9 years of relevant technical experience, or in lieu of a degree, 15 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Citizenship: Must be a US citizen.
  • Background Check and Drug Screen: Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check which includes verification of employment and education.
  • Site Security Badge: Must be able to obtain a site security badge for access to the worksite.
  • National Codes and Standards: Possess an awareness of national codes and standards, environmental regulations, and their influence on design.
  • Technical Issue Facilitation: Experience facilitating multi-discipline meetings to resolve technical issues.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communications skills.
Desired Qualifications
  • Professional Registration: Professional Registration in Engineering, Experience on DOE or DOD projects.
  • Requirements Implementation: Familiarity with implementation of requirements in design.
  • Large Contract Experience: Experience working on a large, complex EPC contract.
  • Functional Analysis: Experience in performing functional analysis.
  • Requirements Management: Experience working with requirements management databases.
  • Design Change Impact Analysis: Experience in performing design and/or requirements change impact analysis.
