Automotive Sales Representative

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Consultant to join our team at Daniels Long Chevrolet. As a Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for selling new vehicles to customers, meeting sales targets, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Sell new vehicles to customers, meeting sales targets and exceeding customer satisfaction standards
- Write complete sales orders and process paperwork in accordance with dealership policies
- Utilize dealership sales control and follow-up systems to maximize sales and customer satisfaction
- Attend product and sales training courses as requested by sales manager
- Stay up-to-date on new products and services within the industry
- Maintain an owner follow-up system to encourage repeat and referral business
- Conduct business in an ethical and professional manner
- Satisfy the transportation needs of new-vehicle purchasers
- Approach, greet, and offer assistance or direction to any customer who enters the dealership showroom or sales lot
- Assist customers in selecting a vehicle by asking questions and listening carefully to their responses
- Fully explain product performance, application, and benefits to prospects
- Describe all optional equipment available for customer purchase
- Offer test drives to all prospects, following dealership procedure to obtain proper identification
- Exhibit a high level of commitment to customer satisfaction
- Know and understand federal, state, and local laws governing retail auto sales
- Establish personal income goals consistent with dealership standards of productivity and devise a strategy to meet those goals
- Keep abreast of new products, features, accessories, etc., and their benefits to customers
- Know and understand equity and values, and explain depreciation to customers
- Ensure the sales manager has an opportunity to meet each customer
- Turn 100% of closed deals to finance and insurance manager, along with properly completed paperwork
- Prepare sold vehicles for customer delivery prior to customer arrival
- Deliver vehicles to customers, ensuring each customer understands the vehicle's operating features, warranty, and paperwork
- Introduce customers to service department personnel to emphasize the quality and efficiency of service repairs and maintenance available in the dealership's service department
- Schedule first service appointment
- Follow up on all post-delivery items, tag/title work, 'we-owes,' and special requests to ensure all customer expectations are met
- Review and analyze actions at the end of each day, week, month, and year to determine how to better utilize time and plan more effectively
- Attend sales meetings
- Maintain a professional appearance
- Perform other tasks as assigned
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
