Position Overview

The American Bank of Commerce is seeking a proactive and skilled leader to oversee our Commercial Credit Department. This pivotal role is integral to the Bank's management team and focuses on enhancing our lending operations.

The Director of Commercial Credit will be responsible for managing the complete lending lifecycle, from the initial application to the final decision on credit requests. This includes a thorough analysis of credit data and financial statements for both new and existing clients to assess the risk associated with extending credit.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure all necessary loan request documentation is complete and accurate to facilitate the underwriting process.
  2. Maintain compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, ensuring adherence to internal policies and controls.
  3. Design and implement training programs for credit analysts, utilizing various instructional methods.
  4. Conduct comprehensive analyses of credit data and financial statements to evaluate risk levels.
  5. Prepare detailed loan memorandums and present them to loan committees for approval.
  6. Analyze financial indicators to project the profitability of loans.
  7. Generate reports outlining the risk factors involved in lending decisions.
  8. Compare financial metrics of evaluated establishments with industry benchmarks.
  9. Assess customer financial records and recommend suitable payment plans.
  10. Review underwriting memorandums for accuracy and completeness before submission.
  11. Oversee the documentation of loan committee decisions and maintain accurate records.
  12. Coordinate the workflow and administrative functions of the Credit Department.
  13. Manage personnel-related duties, including recruitment, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
  14. Adhere to all security protocols as outlined in the Bank's Information Security Program.
  15. Source and distribute market analysis tools to support the underwriting process.
