Product Support Engineer II

Position Overview

This role is designed for a skilled professional who will be instrumental in the maintenance and improvement of both Legacy and New Product lines within the Distribution Components sector at Safran Electrical and Power. Key responsibilities encompass executing engineering functions such as design evaluation, re-engineering existing products, cost reduction initiatives, and quality enhancement measures. The successful candidate will uphold design integrity, provide production assistance, and facilitate customer and supplier interactions to ensure effective problem resolution and foster business expansion.

  • Diagnoses, assesses, and rectifies design and manufacturing challenges.
  • Reviews non-conforming components to ensure product excellence.
  • Creates testing protocols and conducts evaluations in line with industry benchmarks.
  • Engages in assessments conducted by External Testing Facilities.
  • Executes tolerance stack-up analyses and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) calculations.
  • Collaborates with diverse stakeholders for design modifications and approvals.
  • Educates production personnel and guides junior engineers.
  • Participates in investigative problem-solving efforts.
  • Requires consistent attendance and a readiness to work additional hours as necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • A minimum of 4 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing context.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation proficiently.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and specifications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of engineering materials and manufacturing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and problem-solving techniques.
  • Strong communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Capability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
  • Understanding of electrical principles and circuitry.
  • Experience in project management and effective time management.
  • Preferred qualifications include a Master's Degree, experience in aerospace engineering, proficiency with design software, and fluency in French or Spanish.
