Job Overview

Denizen is seeking a highly skilled Sales Engineer to join our team. As a Sales Engineer, you will play a crucial role in partnering with our sales team to deliver innovative audio/video system designs that exceed client expectations.

  • Provide a 5-Star experience for both internal and external customers.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to understand client requirements and assist in developing comprehensive proposals.
  • Design accurate and fully functional low voltage system configurations that align with client specifications and budget.
  • Provide technical expertise and support during the sales process, including answering technical queries and assisting in the presentation of solutions to clients when necessary.
  • Conduct and/or assist site surveys when needed to ensure proposal accuracy and feasibility.
  • Estimate labor and resource requirements to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with post-sales engineering to ensure smooth transition between sales and operations.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to continually enhance the client proposal experience.
  • Consistently meet proposal request deadlines.
  • Work towards continuous improvement of the proposal process to enhance client satisfaction and engagement.
Requirements
  • 4 years' plus of experience in the AV industry with a minimum of 1 year in system design. CTS-D certification preferred.
  • Lutron, Creston, Control4, and Savant experience preferred.
  • A high level of organization, communication, and professionalism.
  • Direct communication with all members of our dynamic team is essential; therefore, excellent verbal and written communication skills in addition to a friendly and extremely professional communication style and phone etiquette are required with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in design software and tools relevant to audio/video system planning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be highly motivated, detail oriented, and have a positive, team-focused attitude.
  • Advanced knowledge with installation and configuration of integration systems.
  • Ability to read drawings and technical schematics/prints.
  • Critical thinking when it comes to adjusting labor estimates on a project-by-project basis.
  • Ability to multitask while upholding quality and integrity of work without losing track of tasks and priorities.
  • Familiarity with D-Tools.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor always.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Thorough Knowledge of residential construction
  • Thorough knowledge of low voltage wiring and testing
  • Familiarity with ERP and project management software's
Work Environment and Physical Requirements

The Sales Engineer will be required to travel on occasion. This position may at times involve contact with clients, vendors, and industry partners and is expected to represent the company in a professional manner during all interactions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, look down/up, bend, twist, see full color, hear, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to lift/move seventy-five pounds. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
