Position Overview


The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and results-driven individual to take on the role of Regional Business Operations Manager.

Under direction, this position will plan, organize, manage, and oversee business unit operations for the region. The individual will direct and monitor the preparation, auditing, and scheduling of voucher payments.

This role will also act as a working supervisor for subordinate staff, reviewing and analyzing expenditure data while monitoring all lines in the operational budget.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as Regional Business Operations Manager
  • Act as a working supervisor
  • Review and analyze expenditure data, monitoring all lines in the operational budget
  • Evaluate activities, workflow, and office procedures within the region
  • Manage orders for supplies, forms, and office equipment
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned that fall within the scope of the responsibilities listed above
Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with coursework in business or public administration
  • Requires two years of responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization
Specialized Skills

Of the noted two years of administrative experience, requires that the experience involve work in a professional accounting environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of administrative experience in a professional accounting environment
  • 2 years of professional experience in a public or business organization utilizing the ability to develop and manage a supportive agency program
  • 2 years of experience in a public or business organization utilizing effective organizational, analytical, and written/oral communication skills
  • 2 years of professional experience in a public or business organization utilizing the ability to develop, install, and evaluate new and revised methods, procedures, and performance standards
  • 2 years of experience in a public or business organization utilizing computer skills, particularly in Excel, and a working knowledge of other Microsoft Office products (Outlook and Word)

  • Requires possession of a valid driver's license and ability to travel
