About the Role

C2ES is seeking a highly skilled Senior Institutional Giving Officer to join our team. As a key member of our development team, you will play a critical role in securing funding from foundations, corporations, and other institutional donors to support our mission to accelerate the transition to a thriving, just, and resilient low-carbon economy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure six- and seven-figure funding opportunities from institutional donors.
  • Collaborate with program staff, senior leadership, and NGO partners to identify and pursue strategic philanthropic investments in C2ES's work.
  • Manage a portfolio of grants, including researching and identifying new funding opportunities, stewarding existing donors, and building relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the finance and program teams to provide timely, accurate budgets and narrative reports to funders, showcasing the impact and value of their investment.
  • Develop and implement systems, procedures, and policies to mature C2ES's fundraising process and ensure best practices are followed.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive fundraising experience, with a strong track record of securing institutional funding.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple six- and seven-figure funding opportunities concurrently, while building a pipeline of new prospects.
  • Extensive knowledge of the climate and clean energy funding landscape, with a focus on policy-related work and technology solutions.
  • Excellent editing and writing skills, with the ability to interpret and work with finance staff to build proposal budgets and review financial reports.
  • Experience utilizing a CRM platform, with a preference for Salesforce.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize among and efficiently manage multiple priorities, meet critical deadlines, and work collaboratively and independently as needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the industrial decarbonization funding landscape and other emerging decarbonization and energy trends.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate technical material to non-technical audiences and effectively communicate complex technical concepts when required.
  • Interdisciplinary understanding of climate/technology/energy issues, with a focus on science, technology, economics, business, law, and policy.
  • Commitment to advancing issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and environmental/climate justice.

  • A competitive salary range of $120,000-$150,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
