About the Role

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc. is seeking a dynamic Southeast Regional Market Leader to enhance our institutional practice across the Southeast, particularly focusing on the markets in Florida and Georgia.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in the design and permitting of capital projects within the healthcare and education sectors, including both higher education and K-12 institutions. A robust network of decision-makers in the region is essential.

This role involves developing a strategic growth plan for the market, managing critical client relationships, coordinating project teams, and overseeing various projects related to healthcare, education, and cultural initiatives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct market analysis and lead the development of regional business strategies for the institutional sector.
  • Collaborate with corporate leadership and regional teams to establish a clear vision and strategy for institutional services.
  • Drive the growth of a skilled team of professionals, including engineers, planners, and specialists in various disciplines.
  • Generate new business opportunities and oversee the preparation of competitive technical proposals.
  • Set strategic goals and oversee initiatives to enhance the institutional practice in the region.
  • Manage key client relationships and contracts effectively.
  • Serve as Principal-in-Charge or Senior Project Manager for selected institutional projects.
  • Establish and monitor project milestones and quarterly business objectives.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to plan and execute promotional activities.

Required Skills and Attributes

The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven track record in delivering institutional projects, generating new business, and maintaining a strong network of industry contacts. Key qualifications include:

  • Expertise in institutional campus planning and capital project execution.
  • A proactive approach with a focus on achieving business results.
  • Strong business acumen and excellent communication skills.
  • External visibility and active participation in the market.
  • Exceptional presentation and teamwork abilities, with a capacity to mentor and guide staff.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of relevant experience in institutional planning and project management.
  • A Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, transportation planning, environmental planning, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A professional license or certification is advantageous.
  • Experience in team management and staff development.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.

This position requires a commitment to team effectiveness, with at least 50% of work time expected to be in-office.
