About the Role

The Vice President, Commercial Operations will be responsible for driving revenue growth and commercial success for the North American market. This role requires a seasoned executive with expertise in market trends, competitor analysis, and strategic partnerships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Execute Commercial Strategy: Create and implement a comprehensive commercial plan to deliver revenue objectives for the North American market.
  • Lead Commercial Operations: Oversee the development and execution of strategic departmental plans to drive commercial success across sales, marketing, and distribution functions.
  • Establish Sales Objectives: Set and achieve annual sales targets, providing quarterly updates and revisions as needed.
  • Drive Customer-Centric Sales Environment: Foster a sales culture that prioritizes customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Lead Customer Service Excellence: Collaborate with local contact centers to deliver exceptional customer service and support.
  • Represent North American Guest Perspectives: Provide input on global reviews, deployment, sourcing share, and communications to ensure alignment with customer needs.
  • Establish Market and Customer Strategies: Develop and implement market and customer strategies to drive commercial success in North America.
  • Build and Maintain Strategic Partnerships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key 3rd party partners at senior levels.
  • Develop Local Brand Communication and Media Plan: Collaborate with global marketing teams to develop a local brand communication and media plan that drives business results.
  • Develop Communication Plans for Customer Segments: Create communication plans for individual customer segments to deliver customer segment profitability targets.
  • Ensure Local Communications Plan Supports Trading Requirements: Ensure the local communications plan supports the trading requirements of the business.
  • Drive Digital Cost of Sale and Marketing Effectiveness: Ensure digital experience reflects local market differences and requirements.
  • Foster Effective Partnerships: Develop and maintain effective working partnerships with key stakeholders at senior levels.
  • Represent Cunard in Local Markets: Act as the company ambassador across the travel trade for Cunard in local markets, promoting the business through industry and customer events.
  • Drive Liaison with Other Business Areas: Collaborate with other areas of the business to ensure a consistent and collaborative approach to sales strategy.
  • Evaluate and Analyze Competitor Activity: Monitor competitor activity, market information, and trade feedback to enhance sales strategy and delivery.
  • Lead Commercially Focused Performance Culture: Foster a commercially focused performance culture across the department and organization to drive business revenue objectives.
  • Model Leadership and Management Excellence: Demonstrate leadership and management excellence across the function and business to ensure line management excellence.
  • Drive Process Improvement: Positively challenge processes and design new solutions for improved and more efficient ways of working.
  • Develop Effective Working Relationships: Develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across the wider business to encourage collaborative working.
  • Contribute to Strategic Direction: Contribute to the strategic direction of the brand through leadership and innovation, encouraging the adoption of market-leading concepts and driving improvement, efficiency, and agility.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business: A bachelor's degree in business, with a master's or MBA preferred.
  • Leadership Experience: 10+ years of leadership experience in a large commercial division.
  • International Sales and Marketing Background: International sales and marketing background operating at executive level.
  • Cruise Industry and/or Hospitality Experience: Cruise industry and/or hospitality experience is desired.
  • Previous Experience of Board Influence: Previous experience of board influence.
  • Management of Third-Party Suppliers: Experience of managing third-party suppliers.
  • Experience of Large-Scale Change Management: Experience of large-scale change management.
  • Strong Commercial Experience: Strong commercial experience and evidence of influencing business performance.
  • Authorized to Work in the United States: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
