Job OverviewProgram Planning and Scheduling Specialist
  • Compensation: $76.20/hr

Position Summary
  • Join a dynamic team as a Program Planning and Scheduling Specialist, where you will contribute to the development of cutting-edge solutions in the Aerospace and Defense sector.
  • Your primary responsibility will be to create a comprehensive multi-year schedule that guides the team in delivering customer commitments.
  • Support various execution teams by generating standard and tailored reports as required.
  • This role is based in Colorado.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze customer contracts and project requirements to formulate a scheduling strategy that aligns with expectations. Communicate this strategy effectively to the program team.
  • Collaborate with Control Account Managers (CAM) and Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads to assess resource requirements for project execution.
  • Lead the establishment and execution of the program baseline to comply with Earned Value Management (EVM) System Description standards.
  • Oversee the scheduling process for Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBR) across programs.
  • Conduct schedule analysis, generate and distribute customer and management reporting, and present schedule insights as necessary.
  • Act as the scheduling expert for a portfolio of programs, facilitating discussions to develop project timelines and interdependencies.
  • Assist technical teams in defining milestones and monitoring compliance with the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), identifying issues and proposing solutions.
  • Promote and implement best practices in scheduling and process enhancements.
  • Work closely with the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) to align program objectives with overarching strategic goals.
  • Support the Program Management Office in achieving or surpassing business targets.
  • Contribute to the identification and mitigation of programmatic risks and opportunities.
  • Coordinate planning efforts and establish baselines across the program portfolio.
  • Perform scenario analyses for schedules in response to emerging issues, such as funding constraints and their impact on the portfolio.
  • Manage detailed production schedules, ensuring their integration into the IMS.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of proposal activities within the portfolio.
  • Maintain a consistent and reliable work schedule.
  • Foster effective working relationships within the department and across the organization.
  • Engage positively with colleagues to sustain a productive work environment.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as needed.

Work Environment
  • This role necessitates regular in-person collaboration, requiring on-site presence three or more days per week.
  • Travel and local commutes between company locations may be necessary.

Working Conditions
  • Work is conducted in an office setting, laboratory, cleanroom, or production area.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 10 years of related experience.
  • Higher degrees, such as a Master's or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience.
  • Relevant technical experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Degree must be from an accredited institution recognized by the US Department of Education.
  • Experience with NASA projects is preferred.
  • Proficient in developing and maintaining schedules across multiple programs using Microsoft Project.
  • Understanding of earned value principles with at least five years of experience in this area.
  • Ability to collaborate with program teams to develop Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and establish activity dependencies for the IMS.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with all organizational levels, including customers.
  • Expertise in program schedule baseline setup and maintenance.
  • Experience in developing proposal schedules.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project Server environments.

  • This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week.
  • Travel and local commutes between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
  • US Citizenship is required.
