Position: FP&A Analyst

JOB SUMMARY

The FP&A Analyst is instrumental in financial planning and analytical activities. This role utilizes comprehensive analysis to derive insights that inform forecasts, budgets, and investment strategies. The analyst provides essential support to leadership through precise reporting, thorough risk assessments, and serves as a subject-matter expert for financial inquiries and projects that demand strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conducts financial analyses to identify trends and formulate recommendations that empower leadership in decision-making and goal achievement.
  • Generates financial reports, including annual, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports.
  • Acts as a resource for departments regarding transactional inquiries and questions requiring analytical expertise, engaging with department heads to assess and discuss risks.
  • Reviews and analyzes cost estimates, including technical data, cost estimating methodologies, and assumptions submitted by departments for completeness and accuracy.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of financial KPIs.
  • Forecasts P&L accounts, including Cost of Goods Sold, SG&A, and Headcount.
  • Oversees CAPEX forecasting and reviews to ensure alignment with business priorities and strategies.
  • Leads the Investment Proposal process and develops models to calculate NPV, Payback, and ROI.
  • Contributes to the annual budgeting process and multi-year forecasts.
  • Examines budgets for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to established procedures.
  • Collaborates closely with Accounting to ensure accuracy and thoroughness in reporting.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives while enhancing internal processes and increasing business efficiencies.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • May require occasional travel.
QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficient in the use of standard office equipment and software.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Exceptional analytical skills (forecasting, trending, economic feasibility, profitability analysis, budgeting) with the ability to translate insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail is critical.
  • Effectively manages multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and proactively, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze moderately complex financial issues, draw conclusions from analysis, and recommend alternative solutions.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in FP&A or related business analysis, preferably within a manufacturing or distribution context.
  • Prior experience with SAP and Analysis for Office, Microsoft PowerBI, and SAC is preferred.

Compensation
  • Base salary range: $71,000 to $97,000 annually, based on various compensable factors including education, work experience, and market conditions.
