Role Summary

The Media Planning Assistant plays a crucial role in developing effective, innovative, and strategic media solutions. This position is responsible for the daily coordination and execution of approved media strategies and provides essential support to key team members in managing accounts. The role reports directly to the Media Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

Account & Client Management

  1. Oversee the daily management of assigned accounts, including billing inquiries, budget adjustments, flowchart updates, competitive assessments, and post-buy evaluations. Maintain precise and comprehensive records while monitoring media agreements and contracts with external vendors.
  2. Deliver work that meets client objectives and earns industry accolades for creativity and effectiveness. Continuously seek and create innovative opportunities in media selection and utilization to enhance visibility and impact.
  3. Collaborate closely with the Media Planner to shape media strategies and points of view. Conduct media research, engage in brainstorming sessions, analyze data, and formulate insights. Understand various media types and their applications in relation to client strategies and objectives.
  4. Gain a thorough understanding of the client's business landscape, including market share, business priorities, and competitor strategies.
  5. Maintain effective communication with the Media Supervisor and Media Planners, providing updates on daily activities and promptly addressing any concerns.

Vendor & Media Assessment

  1. Assess publications, websites, broadcast channels, outdoor placements, etc., for their relevance in achieving client strategic goals.
  2. Analyze inventory against audience segments across various media platforms (display, video, mobile, paid social, native) to identify the most effective means of reaching target audiences.
  3. Examine demographic data and consumer profiles to pinpoint desired target audiences for online advertising.
  4. Stay informed about key trends and developments in media, including demographic shifts and changes in media consumption.
  5. Foster positive relationships with media vendors, ensuring Noble People LLC is represented favorably.

Campaign Implementation & Management

  1. Assist the Media Planner in ensuring the smooth progression of media purchases, including timely issuance and receipt of client approvals, delivery of documentation to vendors, specifications to creative teams, and transmission of creative assets to media outlets.
  2. Prepare insertion orders and facilitate the placement of advertisements with media channels.
  3. Utilize various external data sources to conduct campaign analyses that inform optimizations, planning, and purchasing decisions.
  4. Implement, manage, troubleshoot, and analyze digital campaigns using third-party ad servers.
  5. Monitor media performance for pacing, delivery, placement, and discrepancies in flight dates, negotiating credits or billing adjustments as necessary.

Essential Qualifications

  1. Strong willingness to learn new skills is crucial.
  2. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize projects with varying timelines and deliverables.
  3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  4. Experience with spreadsheets and Excel for organization and calculations is preferred.
  5. Proven ability to build trust and respect through sound creative, strategic, and analytical thinking.
  6. Capability to establish and maintain strong professional relationships with colleagues, vendors, and clients.
  7. Strong mathematical and analytical skills are essential.
  8. Demonstrated understanding of consumer insights and the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
  9. Meticulous attention to detail is necessary.
  10. A Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  11. Willingness to travel and work outside regular hours may be required.
