Facility Operations Engineer

Job Overview:

As a Facility Operations Engineer at CBRE, you will play a crucial role in overseeing, maintaining, and enhancing the functionality of building systems. Your expertise will cover various operational areas including plumbing, electrical systems, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, and fire safety systems, ensuring compliance with applicable standards.
  • Adhere to all relevant codes, regulations, and company policies related to building operations and safety protocols.
  • Implement and manage an energy efficiency program to optimize system performance.
  • Assist in the development of a preventive maintenance strategy to extend the lifespan of building machinery and systems.
  • Ensure safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials while maintaining a clean and secure work environment.
  • Evaluate building systems, including fire alarms and HVAC, to confirm operational efficiency and compliance with client specifications.
  • Utilize advanced knowledge of engineering principles to tackle complex tasks and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Mentor team members by sharing expertise and promoting a collaborative work environment.
  • Influence a variety of operational activities within your team and across related departments.
  • Work within established guidelines and policies while effectively communicating sensitive information.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent trade school certification, along with 4-5 years of relevant experience. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Universal CFC certification is preferred, along with any necessary local or state licenses.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks such as lifting heavy loads, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong analytical skills to make informed decisions based on various data sources.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations relevant to the role.
