CAT Scan Technologist Staten Island/Bard Ave

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CAT Scan Technologist to join our team at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. As a CAT Scan Technologist, you will be responsible for performing medically prescribed radiographic and CT procedures, utilizing computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform radiographic and CT procedures as prescribed by physicians
- Utilize CT scanners to produce high-quality images of patients' internal organs and tissues
- Accurately interpret physicians' scanning instructions and administer contrast materials as needed
- Prepare and operate CT scan equipment and position patients to capture the appropriate images
- Effectively assess patients' information and status, and follow appropriate procedures accordingly
- Use standard procedures to identify the correct patient and review patients' requisitions to understand the type of exam required
- Follow accepted radiologic procedures and use medical information to determine the type of protocol required for radiographic examination
- Consult policy and procedure manuals and/or other reference materials as necessary to ensure actions conform to established protocols
- Recognize the need for and follow isolation precautions
- Independently implement patient procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards
- Explain procedures and equipment to patients clearly and solve problems that arise during patient examinations using both technical knowledge and innovation
- Technical Diploma from an AMA-approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services
- New York State Radiologic Technologist License
- Advanced Certification in CT required within one (1) year of Hire or transfer
- New York State Department of Health IV Contrast Injection Certification, (Part 89-Section required within one (1) year of Hire or transfer
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
