CAT Scan Technologist Staten Island/Outerbridge

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CAT Scan Technologist to join our team at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. As a CAT Scan Technologist, you will be responsible for performing medically prescribed radiographic and CT procedures, utilizing computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform radiographic and CT procedures, accurately interpreting physicians' scanning instructions and administering contrast materials as needed.
- Prepare and operate CT scan equipment, positioning patients to capture the appropriate images.
- Access patient information, schedule exams, and follow departmental HIS/RIS system procedures and protocol to ensure orders are verified and processed correctly.
- Effectively assess patients' information and status, following appropriate procedures accordingly.
- Recognize need for and follow isolation precautions, implementing patient procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards.
- Demonstrate skill in equipment set-up, utilization, and proper maintenance procedure, performing visual and manual quality control checks of radiographic equipment.
- Technical Diploma from an AMA-approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services.
- New York State Radiologic Technologist License.
- Advanced Certification in CT required within one year of hire or transfer.
- New York State Department of Health IV Contrast Injection Certification (Part 89-Section) required within one year of hire or transfer.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
