CAT Scan Technologist Staten Island/Outerbridge Monday

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CAT Scan Technologist to join our team at NYU Langone Health. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing medically prescribed radiographic and CT procedures.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will utilize computerized tomography (CT) scanners to produce cross-section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. You will accurately interpret a physician's scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the CT scan equipment, and position the patient to capture the appropriate images.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform radiographic and CT procedures in accordance with established protocols and standards.
- Accurately interpret physician's scanning instructions and administer contrast materials as needed.
- Prepare and operate CT scan equipment, positioning patients to capture high-quality images.
- Effectively assess patients' information and status, following appropriate procedures accordingly.
- Use standard procedures to identify the correct patient and review patients' requisitions to understand the type of exam required.
- Follow accepted radiologic procedures and use medical information to determine the type of protocol required for radiographic examination.
- Consult policy and procedure manuals and/or other reference materials as necessary to ensure actions conform to established protocols.
- Recognize the need for and follow isolation precautions.
- Independently implement patient procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards.
- Explain procedures and equipment to patients clearly and solve problems that arise during patient examinations using both technical knowledge and innovation.
- Technical Diploma from an AMA-approved school of Radiology or Imaging Services.
- New York State Radiologic Technologist License.
- Advanced Certification in CT required within one year of hire or transfer.
- New York State Department of Health IV Contrast Injection Certification (Part 89-Section) required within one year of hire or transfer.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for this role is $101,911.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
