Position Overview:

The Catering Server plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional food and beverage service during scheduled events. This position requires a friendly and professional demeanor, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Consistent attendance and availability for events as needed are essential.

Compensation: This role offers an hourly wage ranging from $15 to $18.00.

Part-Time Benefits: Eligible part-time employees will have access to a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions. OVG provides part-time, seasonal, and internship employees with one hour of accrued paid leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and implement the Banquet Event Order (BEO) to ensure proper setup and service.
  • Adhere to established service protocols to meet the company’s hospitality standards.
  • Serve plated meals to guests and manage food stations or buffets effectively.
  • Provide beverage service, including alcoholic drinks and table-side wine service.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of equipment and supplies at the event site.
  • Complete closing tasks, including the storage of reusable items, breakdown of goods, cleaning of equipment and areas, and restocking supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area to comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • One or more years of experience in a serving role within a fine dining or large-scale dining environment is preferred.
  • Ability to meet the company’s standards for guest service, coworker interaction, and uniform presentation.
  • Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Self-motivated while also being a team player.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Strong communication skills to interact professionally with guests, coworkers, management, and vendors.
  • Intermediate proficiency in reading and speaking English is required.
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain a valid food handling certificate and TABC certificate prior to employment.
