Position Overview:

The Event Catering Specialist plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional food and beverage service during various events. This position requires a friendly demeanor, professionalism, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced setting. Consistent attendance and availability for scheduled events are essential.

Compensation: This role offers an hourly wage ranging from $15 to $18.

Part-Time Benefits: Employees in part-time roles may access a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions. Additionally, OVG provides part-time, seasonal, and internship staff with one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked, accumulating up to 48 hours annually.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interprets and implements the Banquet Event Order (BEO) to ensure proper setup and service.
  • Adheres to established service protocols to meet hospitality standards.
  • Delivers plated meals to guests and oversees food stations or buffets.
  • Serves beverages, including alcoholic drinks and table-side wine service.
  • Assists with the loading and unloading of equipment and supplies at the event site.
  • Completes closing tasks, including storing reusable items, cleaning equipment and areas, and restocking supplies.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization in the work area to comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • One or more years of experience in a serving role within a fine dining or large-scale dining environment is preferred.
  • Ability to meet the company's standards for guest service, coworker interaction, and uniform presentation.
  • Detail-oriented with strong multitasking capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Self-motivated while being a collaborative team player.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and extended hours.
  • Effective communication skills with employees, management, vendors, and guests in a professional manner.
  • Intermediate proficiency in reading and speaking English is required.
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain a valid food handling certificate and TABC certificate prior to employment.
