Job Title: Technical Sales Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Sales Engineer to join our team at Digi Security Systems. As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will play a critical role in assisting Account Managers with preparing accurate and competitive quotes, pursuing additional opportunities with our existing partners, and developing comprehensive site designs for upcoming or potential projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop site-specific designs for low voltage electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Create detailed technical drawings, layouts, and schematics that meet project requirements.
  • Collaborate with partners to understand site conditions and tailor designs accordingly.
Project Opportunity Management:
  • Identify and evaluate potential project opportunities with Digi's partners.
  • Engage with partners early in the project cycle to understand their needs and position our solutions effectively.
  • Track upcoming projects, ensuring timely preparation of quotes and designs.
  • Maintain open communication with partners to ensure that all technical aspects of the quote and design are understood and agreed upon.
Collaboration and Coordination:
  • Support Digi Account Managers by providing technical expertise when analyzing customer requirements and project specifications during the quoting phase.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including Sales and Operations, to gather necessary information for designs, and to ensure that all quotes and designs are aligned with project goals.
  • Collaborate closely with assigned Project Manager to support the handover process to the project execution team, ensuring a smooth transition from design to implementation.
Reporting and Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of all quotes, designs, and customer communications.
  • Prepare regular reports on the status of quotes, designs, and project opportunities for management and partner review.
  • Update and maintain Digi's CRM/Project Management system, Connectwise Manage, with relevant project and customer information.

Requirements:

  • Education – High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5 Years minimum work force experience
  • 5 Year minimum electronic security systems/low voltage electrical experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of low voltage electrical systems, particularly physical security systems, and design principles.
  • Clear verbal and written communication, prompt and organized manner.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Suite.

Role Requirements:

  • Physical ability to stand on feet for multiple hours at a time and navigate job sites for design site walks.
  • Physical ability to use a computer for multiple hours at a time.
  • In-person role based in office located in Richardson.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
  • Valid driver's license, with no issues on driving record.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to utilize AUTOCAD and PDF editing software such as Adobe Suite or Bluebeam Revu
  • Experience with ConnectWise Manage or other project management ticket based platform
