Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Grant and Contracts Analyst to join our team at the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine. As a key member of our Office of Research, you will play a critical role in planning, coordinating, and conducting grants/contractual reviews in accordance with GAAP, statutes, or regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform professional financial reviews and analysis of fiscal, grant, and budget data, including preparing annual budget projections and developing and monitoring grant budgets.
  • Review and approve budgetary actions facilitating grant and contract awards.
  • Analyze budget forecasts and interact with research centers across WSU.
  • Respond to questions regarding sponsor intent and compliance with fiscal or administrative requirements.
  • Provide interpretation of regulations and policies to faculty, staff, and interested parties.
  • Represent the department for research activities and attend meetings with other departments and/or agencies as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and two years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Experience with fiscal functions, including budgets, contracts, and grants.
  • Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team in a cooperative effort.
  • Advanced-level experience using MS Office Suite, including Excel and SharePoint.
  • Exceptional skills in written and verbal communication.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience and/or knowledge of state and federal laws/regulations pertaining to fiscal management.
  • Experience with electronic grant submission and online submission sites.
  • Experience with WSU or higher education system, including familiarity with a mainframe system, personnel processes, budget experience, and fiscal process.
  • Knowledge of Washington Administrative Codes and WSU Business Policies and Procedures.
  • Experience with Workday.

This is a permanent position with a salary range of $4,410 to $5,929, with a monthly salary of $4,410 to $5,929. The position is eligible for overtime and has a full-time schedule of 100% FTE.
