Grants Specialist/Subject Matter Expert

Veterans Management Services, Inc. (VMSI) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) that provides management consulting services to the Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of Audit, Assessment, and Management (OAAM). We are seeking a highly motivated Grants Specialist/SME to support our client in Washington, DC.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Grants Specialist SME is an expert in federal grant-making policies, procedures, and administration throughout the full grant lifecycle. This role involves providing strategic advice, technical guidance, and recommendations to improve grant management and administration efforts. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic advice and technical guidance on federal grant management.
  • Conduct detailed analysis and recommend improvements in grant processes.
  • Develop and implement best practices for data collection and analysis.
  • Lead data collection surveys and offer data-driven solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal grant regulations.
  • Train and supervise staff in day-to-day federal grant administration.
  • Contribute to grant policy and procedure development and process optimization.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Eight (8) years of relevant professional experience
  • Master's degree in public policy or a related discipline.
  • Grants Management certification highly desired.
