Overview:

The Senior Simulation Engineer will play a crucial role in the development, execution, and upkeep of analytical, modeling, and simulation support functions. This position requires collaboration with design teams to ensure the reliability of models, advocating for the use of cutting-edge simulation tools, mentoring fellow engineers, and engaging with vendors to maintain the latest tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and sustain the analytical, modeling, and simulation support functions.
  • Assist design teams in maintaining the integrity of analytical models and methodologies.
  • Manage communication with external vendors to ensure analytical tools are current and that infrastructure meets modeling needs.
  • Encourage the adoption of analytics and simulation tools in new product development and ongoing enhancements.
  • Guide engineers to enhance their simulation expertise and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with channel partners to identify weaknesses and coordinate training in advanced analytical methods.
  • Review FEA analyses and models to confirm their integrity and validity.
  • Utilize advanced analytical techniques to support key projects and participate in design evaluations as necessary.
  • Act as a liaison between engineering teams and simulation software providers.
  • Enhance fluid-structure interaction (FSI) and CFD capabilities to expedite design and assessment processes.
  • Conduct intricate CFD and classical fluid flow analyses.
  • Investigate and resolve specific mechanical flow challenges while providing analytical engineering guidance.
  • Assess existing methodologies and explore new technological opportunities.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures regarding document management and the security of electronic data.
  • Maintain professional communication standards, understanding their significance in regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute innovative ideas for future products that will benefit the organization and set it apart from competitors.
  • Develop elastomer models, including both 2D and 3D rubber simulations.
  • Perform analyses on pressure vessels and fluid pressure distribution, including pressure loss assessments through simulation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline; a Master's degree in Engineering is advantageous.
  • Over 5 years of experience in an analytical role, with significant expertise in CFD analysis.
  • Proficient in CFD for gases/fluids, with a preference for experience in multiphase flows involving entrained solids.
  • Experience in fluid-structure interaction (FSI).
  • Proficient in Ansys and/or Abaqus software.
  • Ability to apply analytical techniques to real-world challenges and provide solutions that align with business objectives.
