About the Role

Atlantic Partners Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our database operations team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining database systems that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Database Design and Development: Design and build database systems using automation in both data center and cloud platforms.
  • Database Operations: Provide operational support for database systems, including identifying build defects and creating self-healing routines.
  • Performance Tuning: Optimize database performance by analyzing query execution plans, indexing strategies, and other performance-critical factors.
  • Cloud Migration: Migrate databases to cloud platforms, ensuring seamless transition and minimal downtime.
  • Database Security: Implement robust security measures to protect database systems from unauthorized access and data breaches.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor database systems for performance issues, errors, and security threats, and troubleshoot problems to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Document database designs, configurations, and best practices, and share knowledge with team members to ensure consistency and quality.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of MongoDB DBA experience
  • Experience with MongoDB versions 5 to 7
  • Experience with MongoDB replica set and sharding clusters
  • Familiarity with MongoDB external LDAP authentication
  • Experience with Ops manager installation, configuration, and job automation activities
  • Experience with database migrations to cloud
  • MongoDB query tuning experience
  • Shell scripting and automation experience
  • Experience with MongoDB tools, backup, and restores
  • AWS/Cloud Services experience: EC2, RDS, and Aurora
  • Cloud deployments experience: Jenkins, Bitbucket, Terraform
  • Strong troubleshooting/performance tuning skills
  • Ability to assess and improve query performance
  • Ability to handle common database life cycle processes, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
  • Profile server resource usage, optimize, and tweak as necessary
  • Expert level MongoDB version 5/6/7, NO-SQL technologies, patching, troubleshooting, performance tracking/tuning, back-up/recovery, remote monitoring skills with hands-on experience in large and very dynamic environments
  • Strong commitment to following SDLC/Change-Management principles
  • Self-starter and able to perform work with minimal supervisory direction
  • Knowledge of data quality, data management, and data testing strategies and practices
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong experience working with ticketing tools such as ServiceNow, Zenoss or any other monitoring tool, Cloud monitoring tools (CloudWatch, CloudTrail), AppDynamics (or similar APM tool)
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Keen analytical and structured approach to problem solving
  • Ability to accommodate flexible work schedules
  • Desired skills: Ability to diagnose problems and triage/resolve issues across various tiers (application, network, database, server, or storage tiers)
  • Ability to implement automation to reduce manual administrative tasks through use of jobs, scripts, cron, or other techniques
  • Experience in DB2 UDB, Oracle, Postgres, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, and/or Cassandra is plus
  • Experience with configuration management tools: SCCM; Puppet; or Ansible.
  • Development or enhancement of training and upskilling programs
  • Bachelor's Degree or similar required
