Overview:

The Senior Simulation Engineer will take charge of the development, execution, and upkeep of analytic, modeling, and simulation support services. This role is crucial in assisting design teams to uphold the accuracy of models, encouraging the application of sophisticated simulation tools, mentoring fellow engineers, and collaborating with vendors to ensure tools remain current.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish, execute, and sustain the analytic, modeling, and simulation support framework.
  • Assist design teams in maintaining the accuracy of analytic models and methodologies.
  • Manage communication with external vendors to ensure analytical tools are current and the infrastructure meets modeling needs.
  • Encourage the adoption of analytics and simulation tools in new product designs and enhancements. (Act as a mentor to the engineering team)
  • Guide engineers to enhance their simulation skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with channel partners to identify weaknesses and coordinate training in advanced analytical methods.
  • Review FEA analyses and models to ensure their integrity and validity.
  • Utilize advanced analytical techniques to support key projects and participate in design reviews as necessary.
  • Act as a liaison between engineering teams and simulation software providers.
  • Advance fluid-structure interaction (FSI) and CFD capabilities to support expedited design and evaluation processes.
  • Conduct intricate CFD and classical fluid flow analyses.
  • Diagnose and resolve specific mechanical flow challenges while providing analytical engineering consultation.
  • Assess existing methodologies and innovate new technological opportunities.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures regarding document management and the security of electronic data and confidential information.
  • Ensure professional communication through emails, recognizing their significance in documentation practices.
  • Contribute to innovative product ideas that will enhance the organization’s competitive edge.
  • Develop elastomer models, including both 2D and 3D rubber modeling.
  • Perform analyses on pressure vessels and fluid pressure distribution, including pressure loss simulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline; a Master's degree in Engineering is advantageous.
  • Over 5 years of experience in an analytical role, with significant expertise specifically in CFD analysis.
  • Experience in CFD for gases/fluids is essential, with a preference for multiphase flows involving entrained solids.
  • Experience in fluid-structure interaction (FSI) is required.
  • Proficiency in Ansys and/or Abaqus is necessary.
  • Capability to apply analytical techniques to real-world challenges and provide solutions that align with business objectives.
