Overview:

The Senior Simulation Engineer will play a pivotal role in the development, execution, and maintenance of analytical, modeling, and simulation support services. This position entails collaborating with design teams to uphold the integrity of models, advocating for the adoption of cutting-edge simulation tools, mentoring fellow engineers, and coordinating with vendors to ensure tools remain current.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and sustain the analytical, modeling, and simulation support framework.
  • Assist design teams in maintaining the accuracy of analytical models and methodologies.
  • Manage external vendor interactions to guarantee that analytical tools are updated and that infrastructure meets modeling needs.
  • Encourage the integration of analytics and simulation tools in both new product designs and enhancements of existing products.
  • Guide engineers to enhance their simulation skills and knowledge base.
  • Collaborate with channel partners to identify skill gaps and facilitate training in advanced analytical methods.
  • Review FEA analyses and models to ensure their accuracy and reliability.
  • Utilize advanced analytical techniques to support critical projects and engage in design evaluations as necessary.
  • Act as a liaison between engineering teams and simulation software providers.
  • Advance fluid-structure interaction (FSI) and CFD capabilities to expedite design and assessment processes.
  • Conduct intricate CFD and classical fluid flow analyses.
  • Diagnose and resolve specific mechanical flow challenges while providing analytical engineering insights.
  • Assess existing methodologies and explore innovative technological opportunities.
  • Adhere to established protocols regarding document management and the safeguarding of electronic data and confidential information.
  • Ensure professional communication in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to innovative product concepts that will enhance the organization’s competitive edge.
  • Develop elastomer models, encompassing both 2D and 3D rubber modeling.
  • Execute analyses of pressure vessels and fluid pressure distribution, including pressure loss assessments through simulation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline; a Master's degree in Engineering is advantageous.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an analytical role, with significant expertise in CFD analysis.
  • Proficiency in CFD for gases/fluids is essential, with experience in multiphase flows containing entrained solids preferred.
  • Experience in fluid-structure interaction (FSI) is required.
  • Proficient in Ansys and/or Abaqus software.
  • Capability to apply analytical techniques to practical challenges and deliver solutions that align with business objectives.
