Position Title: Armed Security Guard

Company: Bering Global Solutions, LLC

Bering Global Solutions, LLC, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is currently in search of qualified Armed Security Guards in Washington, DC. This role involves working under the guidance of the Program Manager in collaboration with the Department of Transportation and Federal Protective Service, focusing on the safeguarding of federally owned or leased properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct all security personnel assigned to their respective shifts at NAVSEA.
  • Assess and mentor assigned staff to ensure they are well-versed in their responsibilities and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • Enhance security protocols during periods of civil unrest, natural disasters, or other emergencies.
  • Contribute to the formulation of contingency strategies, confrontation management guidelines, and emergency preparedness plans.
  • Facilitate security drills to evaluate the responses of security personnel in various scenarios.
  • Ensure that all assigned personnel uphold necessary certifications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and accountability for all property and equipment.
  • Conduct roll calls, distribute weapons and equipment, and ensure adherence to uniform standards.

Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Must possess a final SECRET security clearance.
  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in an armed security capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and work autonomously.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Capability to perform essential job functions, including extended periods of physical activity.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Guard/Clearance card
  • Gun/OC/Baton permit
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification

COVID Vaccination Requirements:

Subject to federal or company policies regarding COVID-19 vaccination or regular testing.

Work Environment:

Must be adaptable to various working environments.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Oversees the NAVSEA Site in the absence of the Site Manager and supervises direct reports and subordinates.

Additional Qualifying Factors:

  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation.
  • Must have reliable transportation and access to military installations.
  • Must be able to obtain necessary security guard or weapons permits.
  • Must be able to pass a physical agility assessment if applicable and complete required training.
